Traffic Advisory: November 10-13, 2017

During the weekend of 11/10/17, 8:00PM Friday through 4:00AM Monday, traffic on northbound and southbound Route 440, between Pulaski Street and Harbor Drive, will be reduced to a single travel lane in each direction.  The southbound Route 440 Jughandle to Pulaski Street will be closed and traffic will be detoured south onto Prospect Street.  Westbound Pulaski Street to Route 440 will also be temporarily detoured onto (new) Chosin Few Way.  These closures and detours are required for asphalt paving on Route 440 in the vicinity of Pulaski Street.  Work will be supported by Bayonne Police. On Monday, 11/13/17, traffic from Port Jersey Boulevard to the Toll Plaza will shift onto the new westbound Connector Bridge in a single travel lane.  A work zone will be created in the Toll Plaza area, including the closure of Toll Lane 6 (exiting the Turnpike) to facilitate sign structure work.  This work zone will be in place for approximately four (4) weeks. Please review the following graphic for details or CLICK HERE.

Traffic Advisory: Sunday, November 5, 2017

On Sunday, 11/05/17, NJ Transit Light Rail Service – between the 34th Street Station in Bayonne and the Danforth Avenue Station in Jersey City – will be maintained via NJ Transit bus service, 6:00AM Sunday morning through 7:00PM Sunday evening. During this period, bridge construction work will be performed over the NJ Transit and Conrail train tracks.

October 2017 – Other New Jersey Turnpike Work

For the weekend of 10/20/2017:

Newark Bay Bridge (Interchange 14-14C):

Eastbound: No closures scheduled.

Westbound:  No closures scheduled.

Jersey City (Jersey Avenue – Interchange 14C):

Eastbound:  No closures scheduled.

Westbound:  Jersey Avenue – Interchange 14C: Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 7P Saturday to 8A Sunday. During this time the Merseles Street on-ramp to the Turnpike/I78 will be closed with a detour provided. *New Traffic Pattern* Following this closing, at 8A Sunday, traffic on the westbound Turnpike will be shifted onto the right lane and shoulder for approximately two years. This shift is necessary to support the eastbound bridge redecking project in the same area. This work has been coordinated with Pulaski Skyway and Rt. 139.

Westbound – Interchange 14A – 14: 
During the weekend of 10/13/17 – 10/15/17 the westbound Hudson County Extension between Interchange 14A and Interchange 14 (milepost N2.3 – N0.0), will be reduced to one lane from 9:00PM Friday to 5:00AM Monday. This work has been coordinated with westbound Pulaski Skyway and the Bayonne Bridge, both of which will remain open during peak periods Saturday and Sunday. This closing is necessary to address high priority and emergent bridge deck repairs in the westbound travel lanes.
Jersey City (Jersey Avenue – Interchange 14C)
Eastbound – Interchange 14C to Jersey Avenue:
During the weekend of 10/13/17 – 10/15/17 the eastbound Hudson County Extension between Interchange 14C and Jersey Avenue will be reduced to one lane from 8:00PM Friday to 5:00AM Monday. These closings are necessary to address high priority and emergent bridge deck repairs and resurfacing, which are required to maintain the eastbound roadway and shoulder lane during the Pulaski diversion.

On Thursday, 08/03/17, northbound Avenue E will be reduced to a single travel lane between 52nd Street and the Toll Plaza.  This new temporary traffic pattern will be in place through August 31, 2017.

During the day on 05/10/17, northbound Avenue E will be shifted right to a new temporary alignment between 50th Street and 51st Street.  This new alignment will be in place for several months.  Please see graphic below.

Traffic Advisory: Weekend of May 6, 2017

During the weekend of 05/06/17NJ Transit Light Rail Service between 34th Street Station in Bayonne and Danforth Avenue Station in Jersey City will be maintained via NJ Transit bus service, 3:00AM Saturday morning through 3:00AM Monday morning. During this period, bridge structural steel will be erected over the NJ Transit and Conrail train tracks.  CLICK HERE for more information.

For the weekend of 4/28/2017:

Newark Bay Bridge (Interchange 14-14C):

Eastbound Interchange 14-14A: Traffic will be reduced to one lane from 9P Friday to 5A Monday. This closing will include a half ramp closing at Interchange 14A exit ramp starting at 9P Friday. One lane of traffic will be maintained on the Interchange 14A exit ramp. This has been coordinated with the Bayonne Bridge, which will remain open during peak periods Saturday and Sunday. These closings are necessary to address high priority and emergent bridge deck repairs and resurfacing, which are required to maintain the eastbound roadway and shoulder lane during the Pulaski diversion. The eastbound shoulder lane will not be in use during this closure.

Alternate routes are available via 15E to 440 south (if traveling from the north), or through Staten Island, NY to the Bayonne Bridge (if traveling from the south). Traffic Advisory: April 28, 2017

On Friday, 04/28/17, from 9:00AM to 3:00PM, southbound Route 440 travel lanes will be shifted left along the median barrier and a work zone will be created on the right (outside) between Route 185 and Pulaski Street.
Also on Friday evening, 04/28/17, from 8:00PM to 4:00AM, northbound Route 440 travel lanes will be shifted left along the median barrier between Pulaski Street and Harbor Drive. The northbound Route 440 ramp to the Turnpike will be maintained on the far right (outside).
These new traffic patterns are expected to be in place through Fall 2017.
